Vision Statement for Extended Provision within the
Parkwood Family of Schools

The Parkwood Family of Schools is committed to providing high quality learning opportunities for all members of its community from early childhood years through to senior adult years. The schools will work closely together and collaborate with all local providers to ensure there is a wide ranging, coherent programme on offer which will meet the needs and aspirations of all those living and working in the area. The resources and facilities of the schools will be used effectively with access being provided well beyond the normal school day and also during holiday periods.

This vision will be achieved through a number of key appointments working across the Family of Schools and led by a Community Learning Co-ordinator. These workers will be accountable to all the Headteachers within the Family of Schools. Across the Family of Schools the core offer for Extended Schools will be fully met:
- access to childcare
- access to family and parenting support
- a varied menu of study support activities
- swift and easy referral to specialist services such as health and social care
- community use of facilities

The Parkwood Family of Schools sees the community as its partner and will work with it to promote learning as an appealing and enjoyable activity throughout the Shirecliffe, Longley and Burngreave areas.
