Learning alongside your children

  • At the moment I am trying to arrange a course for Parents and Carers to come into school and work with their children
    at Parkwood. Watch this space!
  • If you have children at KS2 (junior School, or Y7 with lower levels of achievement) please join one of our planned courses at Shirecliffe Junior School
  • These are based on Reading and Numeracy

Shirecliffe Junior School
The Literacy

  • Is planned for Fri 17th Sept, 9-11am, 5 wks
  • It is a short course around reading books.

The Numeracy

  • Is planned for Fri 9th November. 9 – 11am 5 wks

Please don’t worry if your literacy or numeracy skills are poor.
These courses are not designed to embarrass anyone.
We will help you all the way.

I CAN ALSO TELL YOU WHERE TO FIND COURSES TO
HELP YOU WITH YOUR OWN BASIC SKILLS
TO IMPROVE YOUR OWN MATHS AND ENGLISH

For children to get the most out of their lessons and remain curious about the many new and interesting parts of their world, they still need their parents' help and daily encouragement. Research repeatedly shows that children are better, more successful learners when their parents are actively involved in their learning, both at home and at school.
