Pupils are encouraged to think about and explore healthy eating practices during their study in many subjects.

NATIONAL HEALTHY SCHOOLS STANDARD

The healthy schools programme was introduced in 1999, encouraging staff, students, governors, parents and the wider community in a whole school approach to healthy and well being in school to make schools a safe, secure and healthy environment in which young people can learn and develop.

NHSS includes eight key areas of activity:
           
Personal, social and healthy education
Citizenship
Drug education
Emotional health and well being            
Healthy eating
Physical activity
Safety
Sex and relationship education
